Barrister, Nationalist parliamentarian and judge. Admitted as barrister SCNSW 28 May 1897 (KC 11 Mar 1924). NSW MLA 1917-35. Atty-Gen 20 Dec 1921 and 1922-25, Premier and Colonial Treasurer 1927-30. Judge SCNSW 1935-41. Lt-Cdr RAN 1917-18. KCMG 1933.
